High dielectric constant poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene-chlorofluoroethylene) for capacitive pressure and bending sensors

Poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene-chlorofluoroethylene), P(VDF-TrFE-CFE), samples were prepared by solvent casting varying polymer concentration and evaporation temperature. Different sample morphologies obtained depending on the processing conditions, as well different physical-chemical properties such degree of crystallinity, mechanical dielectric properties. On other hand, electroactive β-phase content degradation temperature P(VDF-TrFE-CFE) are independent conditions. At 1 kHz, highest constant, ε’ = 40, was for with 15 wt% in solutions conditions based melting at 210 °C. Taking into account high response, pressure bending capacitive sensors developed excellent response sensibility (0.03 kPa−1). The materials evaluated force detection applications. Thus, it is concluded that films suitable a new generation multifunctional sensing applications, including both deformation touchpads.
